We were founded by a structured finance professional who spent over twenty-two years at HSBC, Merrill Lynch, and Abu Dhabi Investment Council — structuring and placing third-party investment funding to the world's largest reinsurers at sovereign wealth fund level. The transition to insurance was not a career change. It was a recognition that the analytical rigour applied to a R850 million reinsurance placement is exactly the same rigour that should be applied to a R2 million fleet programme. The difference is that nobody was doing it.
